Huntington Ingalls Campus Visit
Huntington Ingalls and the Corporate Treasury team joined ODU students and faculty at a “Meet the Employer” session last Wednesday at the Strome Entrepreneurial Center.Rick Wyatt, Corporate VP and Treasurer; Steve Powell,Corporate Finance, Banking and Capital Markets; Dianna Yoko, Cash Management; Mike Burton, Insurance & Loss Control; Mike Byrum, Mergers & Acquisitions Analysis and John Duy, Investments & Trusts each discussed their department’s operations and day-to-day activities.Following the presentation, students had a chance to meet one-on-one and discuss the Huntington Ingalls internship program and career paths.
ODU Alums Return to Campus for Real Estate Career Café
On Tuesday, November 5th, ODU Alums Ekaterina Muraveva, Gabrielle Gullins, and Jen Wilson returned to their alma mater to speak with current real estate students about their experience at ODU and the real estate industry. The panel answered students' questions and were able to give first-hand advice based on their own experiences both at ODU and in their career fields.
Student Spotlight
Junior, Kaleb Hinman, Completes Summer Internship with The Franklin Johnston Group
Kaleb Hinman, a junior majoring in Real Estate Finance and Economics, was selected as a an intern for The Franklin Johnston Group this past summer. Kaleb describes his internship as an experience that taught him how the real business world works. He states, "Out of the many things I got out of the internship, the thing which means the most to me was having valuable conversations with people who were kind enough to take the time to give me advice about life."
Kaleb completed his first two years of college at Tidewater Community College before transferring to ODU this fall. His goal is to pursue a career in real estate development and he is most interested in new construction development.

In this role, you’ll join Colliers in a key educational and developmental position with exposure to the multiple facets of the commercial real estate industry.
Interns will learn about different types of properties (retail, industrial, office leasing, multi-family), real estate research platforms, and methods to obtain information for investment decisions.
