2023 Spring Presidents Message
It’s Never Too Late to do the Right Thing! How many times, while we were growing up, did we hear our parents tell us that “It’s never too late to do the right thing?” It’s a lesson that (I hope) we all learned, but sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that, and this is, for me, one of those times! In my first column, in early January, I ran out of space to properly recognize and thank those members of the HRACRE Board of Directors who rotated off the Board at the end of last year, and to acknowledge by name the new members of the HRACRE Board. That was my excuse then, but waiting this long to get around to doing it – well there’s just no worthwhile excuse for it, so to those of you listed below, I apologize for the delay in recognizing and thanking you for your service to HRACRE – whether in the past or, for the new Directors, in the years to come: Directors who rotated off the Board on December 31, 2022: Krista Costa, Tom O’Grady, Mark Rinaldi My genuine thanks to each of Krista, Tom and Mark; you will shortly be receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from HRACRE for your service on the Board of Directors. New Directors: For a term starting January 1, 2023: Filling a vacant term, starting March 31, 2023: Chanda Chann, Curtis Cobert, Chris Devine I am excited about the infusion of new talent and diverse perspectives that these new Directors will bring to our Board over the coming years. Thank you to each of our new Directors for all the good work you’ve done for HRACRE which led to your election to the Board, and for all that you will no doubt do for HRACRE in the years to come. New Board Secretary: It is my pleasure to congratulate Kelli Fox of KPMG on her election on March 31 to fill the vacancy in the office of Secretary of HRACRE, to serve for the remainder of this year. Kelli formerly chaired the Holiday Party Committee and was already serving as a member of the HRACRE Executive Committee, and Finance Committee and will continue in those 2 roles. The vacancy was created in early February when Ed Denton concluded that the press of his new responsibilities and travel requirements at work made it impossible for him to continue as Secretary and move up through the chairs in the coming years as is customary. We wish Ed well in his new role at work and thank him for all that he has done for HRACRE over the years. William (Bill) Nusbaum
