Eric's Welcome Message
So long 2020! Here’s to hoping 2021 brings a return to “business as usual”, or at least a close proximity. The strangest part of this wild ride has been the randomness, at least for me. Some things have struggled, some have stayed the same, and some have gotten better. On a personal note, I know my backyard looks a lot better now than this time a year ago. But the “quarantined” Christmas celebration of 2020 didn’t seem the same. And the commercial real estate world is on a similar path. Many markets are struggling mightily, and I can do nothing but hope for a strong recovery for the region’s professionals that depend on tourism, travel, and numerous other areas that have been gravely impacted by the pandemic. Other commercial and industrial markets are as or more robust than ever, thank goodness!

As an organization dedicated to the Hampton Road’s commercial real estate industry, HRACRE will continue to adapt and provide value, educational and informational opportunities, legislative support and lobbying on behalf of our member’s interests, along with a wide variety of other important activities. And, when the time is right, networking. That’s what I miss the most, seeing friends and colleagues around town at events and lunches and conferences. We’ve all quickly learned how to do our work from home, but digital screens will not replace face to face interaction. And I’m looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

2021 HRACRE President
