The 2026 HRACRE Summer Internship Program Applications are OPEN

This is the 20th year of our program and HRACRE is committed to providing a meaningful experience for both the interns as well as participating employer companies. The student application & the employer sign up process is open to sign up NOW!  In addition to having the opportunity to learn about many aspects of the Hampton Roads commercial real estate industry, we are planning on in-person meetings, informative sessions and tours, opportunities for the selected interns to meet and talk with industry experts, and a chance to interact with other participating interns and HRACRE members this summer!
2026 Six Week Program Dates: June 8th to July 22nd

HRACRE Internship Options for Member Companies:

• Internships can be full or part time.
• Share an intern with another HRACRE Member firm to introduce students to multiple disciplines.
• Compensation is up to each participating company.
• Be a mentor to a college student and help keep young talent in the 757!!

HRACRE is a commercial real estate association comprised of 500+ industry professionals such as developers, economic developers, municipalities, contractors, architects, design professionals, engineers, attorneys, appraisers, bankers and brokers. The HRACRE Internship Program was established to attract the best and brightest students to Hampton Roads and to improve their understanding of the commercial real estate industry. Participating member employers select intern applicants for interview; selection of interns and matters of compensation are left to the employer’s discretion. During the internship period students will have an opportunity to participate in educational programs by leading industry professionals, a speed mentoring breakfast, tours, luncheons and numerous opportunities for networking. Certificates and awards for top participants will be announced at the closing luncheon.  The HRACRE 2026 Summer Internship Program will run for 6 weeks in the summer, from June 8th to July 22nd, however the start date & end date of your intern's employment within your organization is totally up to you.  In addition to interning with one of HRACRE's member companies, students will also have the opportunity to participate in these twice a week planned events to learn all of the disciplines within CRE.  At the conclusion of the 6 week program all interns will be eligible to apply to earn a scholarship from HRACRE!

Details about the program:

• Your resume and application will be reviewed by the HRACRE member companies participating in our intern program. They will reach out to you directly via email or phone number that you provide on the application for an interview to see if there is a match, and interest on your and their part for a summer internship.
• Interviews may be in person if convenient, over the phone or by Zoom or Teams calls.
• Compensation is a discussion between applicants and each hiring company.
• If you are hired, and participating in the HRACRE 6 week program as well, you will have the opportunity to be awarded scholarship dollars at the conclusion of the 6 week program.
